Man Reportedly Confessed To Killing, Dismembering And Eating Woman

According to police in Tennessee, a man has confessed to the murder, dismemberment and consumption of a woman he just met.
37-year-old Gregory Scott Hale reportedly murdered the victim, identified as Lisa Marie Hyder on Friday inside a home in Manchester. Cops were tipped off on June 6th when a neighbor called to report he had a ‘reason to believe’ someone had been killed on his street.
A search warrant was obtained and sheriff’s investigators arrived at the residence where they found Hale. He confessed to the killing.
Hale told police he beheaded Hyder before cutting off her hands and feet. He then placed her extremities in buckets. He also confessed to eating a part of Hyder after murdering her.
Hale lives with his parents, who were home at the time of the murder but in a different section of the house. Dist. Atty. Mickey Layne told reporters Hyder and Hale had only known each other for a short period of time.
He said “I understand that they were recent acquaintances, my understanding is they just met that day.” Hale has been charged with ‘murder and abusing a corpse’.
He’s being held on a $1.5 million bond. No solid motive was offered for the slaying.
