Britain's Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, attended a remembrance service as part of the D-Day 70th anniversary commemorations in Normandy on Friday.

Charles and Camilla were joined by the leaders of France, Britain and Australia as well as numerous veterans of the allied forces for the ceremony at Bayeux cathedral.

The centerpiece of the event was the dedication of a new church bell at Bayeux cathedral. Prince Charles baptized the bell "Therese Benedicte" and it was blessed by cathedral clergy afterwards.

On Friday, various world leaders and veterans gathered by the beaches of Normandy to mark the 70th anniversary of World War Two's D-Day landings.
