A Taliban video shows the handover of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

The Taliban recently released Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five prisoners. The handover took place in a remote region of eastern Khost province.

The exchange was recorded on a video by the Taliban. While Bergdahl sat in a truck owned by the Taliban, a U.S. Black Hawk helicopter was aiming to land in an open field.

Once it touched ground, Bergdahl was taken over to U.S. Special Operations Forces. Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby stated “we know the transfer was peaceful and successful, and our focus remains on getting Sgt. Bergdahl the care he needs.”

For the past 5 years, Bergdahl had been held captive. He was captured by the Taliban after he walked off his military base in Eastern Afghanistan.

Given his long and horrific ordeal, understandably, he seemed terrified during the recent transfer.

The Taliban reportedly warned Bergdahl right before his rescuers arrived not to return to Afghanistan or he would be killed. He is now being treated at the U.S. base in Landstuhl, Germany, however his condition is not known.
