A fleeing driver in Syracuse, Utah recently led police on a dangerous chase and ultimately put numerous lives in danger.

The vehicle barreled down residential streets with multiple police cars in hot pursuit. At one point, the motorist used a popular park as a cut-through.

As the auto plowed over grass and a sidewalk panicked visitors, some of whom are children, noticed what was going on and bolted out of the way in the nick of time.

When the stolen car made another attempt through the park, a driver in a pick-up truck fortunately decided to use his vehicle to make it stop in a head on crash. That effectively ended the chase at approximately 6 pm.

Police soon learned the driver is a minor. The 14-year-old boy had swiped his grandfather’s car, who had reported the vehicle stolen to police.

A Good Samaritan who was using a police scanner app on a smart phone saw the car and tipped off authorities, which led to the chase. The teenage boy was transported to a juvenile detention center.

Both the stolen car and the truck that stopped the chase were damaged, but reportedly neither driver was injured.
