Three Turks killed in east Afghanistan suicide bombing-police

Police in Afghanistan sift through the debris in Nangarhar.

This is all that's left after a suicide bomber blew himself up near a police building in the eastern province.

The attacker was in a rickshaw packed with explosives.

(SOUNDBITE) (Pashto) EYEWITNESS, NOOR WALI SAYING:

"I was in the area, a rickshaw was parked near the road, and suddenly an explosion happened and we escaped. I don't know what happened next."

At least three Turkish construction workers were killed.

A fourth worker and an Afghan child were also wounded in the blast.

No group has so far claimed responsibility.

But the Taliban has targeted foreign workers in Afghanistan in the past.

Taliban militants have stepped up attacks like this ahead of the planned withdrawal of most foreign troops from Afghanistan at the end of the year.
