The polling in Balochistan on minority and women seats began at 9 am and would continue till 3 pm. Councilors who succeeded in the first phase on special seats are taking part in the voting.
About 1093-strong staff has been posted to oversee the polls. On 1082 seats, 1773 candidates are contesting against each other. There are 2332 women seats out of which 1093 has been filled unopposed.
Upon 157 seats, no nomination papers were filed. On 743 minority seats, 157 candidates have succeeded unopposed. On 73 seats, 165 candidates are contesting. No candidate filed nomination papers on 513 seats.
A fool-proof security has been posed to avoid any untoward incident at the polling stations.
