Land mines pose new threat in flood-ravaged Bosnia

Flood-stricken Bosnia is facing new threats from an old war: land mines displaced by the flood waters.
Experts are now working on erecting new signs around minefields in central Bosnia.
The fear is where they go from here.
(SOUNDBITE) (Bosnian) DE-MINING CENTRE OFFICIAL, FIKRET SMAIS, SAYING:
"There are mines completely made of plastic so they float on the water like a plastic plate. Metal mines weighing two or three kilograms can be moved as well, and it has happened in the past. So mines can float away."
A small house encircled by yellow tape once stood on the front line of the war.
It took more than a decade for de-miners to clear the area. And now they are back providing comfort to the owner.
(SOUNDBITE) (Bosnian) VISOKO RESIDENT, MEHMEDALIJA DZAPIC, SAYING:
"I didn't feel comfortable. I just didn't feel comfortable, but now the army is here and they have started cleaning the area."
