Total 47 people killed by Bodo militants in Assam, curfew imposed

Seven bodies have been found in the Baksa district in Assam overnight, taking the number of people killed in the violence in the state to 32 in the last 36 hours.Assam's ethnic riot torn Bodoland territorial Council (BTC) area is on the boil once again. A fresh lease of violence has been unleashed by suspected Bodo rebels from the underground National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB)'s Songbhijit faction. On Thursday, three people of a family were gunned down. Then overnight, the suspected rebels attacked Balapara in Kokrajhar district killing seven people on the spot, leaving a sense of palpable tension here. A Ground Zero report.
