Drought threatens war-torn Syria's food security

Violence in Syria has killed at least 100,000 people, but starvation now poses the biggest threat to Syrians. Millions are facing food shortages, according to the World Food Programme. The organisation wants the international community to release more than a billion dollars in promised funding. The UN said it provided assistance to a record 4m people inside Syria last month. But a special report published on Tuesday indicated that a potential drought may further jeopardise food security in the country. Al Jazeera's Mohammed Vall reports.
