The 5-year-old child’s name is Jordan Bleimeyer. Not long ago, the boy's 16-year-old stepbrother found him in the closet with nothing but a mattress, malnourished and wearing a diaper.

Police soon caught up with Jordan’s stepmother Tammi and biological father Bradley.

They were arrested and held at Harris County Jail, while Jordan was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A Facebook page dedicated to him called ‘Toy Drive for Baby Boy Bleimeyer’ is tracking his progress and notes that he is now doing wonderful. He has been taken off all IVs and is enjoying his food, even getting to the point where he’s telling the hospital staff that he’s full.

Thus far, Jordan has gained four pounds. Most notably, a photo was taken of the child in his bed surrounded by brand new toys and he’s smiling, as in a huge, content, heartwarming smile.

Attorneys for the biological mother of Jordan say the father kept her from seeing her boy for over 2 years. She is now seeking custody of him.
