A customer in a Winter Haven CVS was almost plowed over after a vehicle barreled through the front of the business. Surveillance footage at the store captured a Chevrolet Impala flying through the store.

The female shopper had been browsing the shelves at the time and was entirely caught off guard when the car came within inches of her. 84-year-old Margaret Underwood was identified as the driver of the vehicle.

The elderly woman had been sitting in the parking lot while her husband was in the CVS. When he returned to the vehicle, Margaret reversed out of her space and struck an SUV that was driving in the lot. Margaret’s husband got out to check on the other driver.

She put the car in drive to pull back into her old parking spot, but she hit the gas too hard and drove right through the store. 80-year-old Adrienne Watkins is the woman who was shopping at the time of the incident and narrowly missed getting struck by the vehicle.

Fortunately, both elderly women avoided serious injury. Margaret was cited for ‘Improper Backing and Careless Driving’ and she has since apologized for all the trouble.

Damage to the store is estimated to be about 65 grand.
