Three dead, three injured in Hawaii plane crash

A small plane crashed after taking off from Hawaii's Lanai Island on Wednesday night, killing three people and injuring three others onboard.
The plane took off from the Lanai Airport at 9:30 p.m. local time. About a mile southwest of the airport, the outbound flight crashed in a grassy terrain off a dirt road. Three people were killed, and the injured were flown to Queens Medical Center on Oahu.
"Everything happened so fast as far as getting the people off the island to medical care and fighting the fire," said an emergency responder who was not authorized to speak publicly, according to an NBC News report. "Between putting out the fire and gaining access it was very frustrating for the personnel."
Authorities still don't have the details of how the crash occurred.
