A lady in Denton, Texas may soon be a record holder for donating the most breast milk. When the mother of two, Alyse Ogletree, realized she was greatly overproducing breast milk, a male nurse asked her if she would consider donating some of that extra fluid.

She agreed to do so, not for recognition, but just because she wanted to do something kind and help children who need the milk. Ogletree soon began working with The Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas and over the past few years has donated hundreds of gallons of her breast milk.

When she first started the process, Ogletree was completely unaware that there was a record for breast milk donation. She later found out about the achievement recognized by Guinness World Records and now wants her name on the title.

Currently, Ogletree’s breast milk donation amount is listed at 53,081 ounces. That equates to over 400 gallons of milk.

Indiana based Amelia Boomker is the current record holder with an amount of 16,321 ounces of breast milk donated between February 2008 and September 2013.

Ogletree has shattered that record and is applying to Guinness World Records, however nothing has yet been made official.
