A group of young fishermen in Boca Raton, Florida reeled in a 14 foot long hammerhead shark that weighed an estimated 700 pounds.

Viktor Hluben, a Boca Raton resident and Florida Atlantic University student is quoted as saying: "We knew we had a giant fish on, we battled it for about an hour and thirty minutes, and when we saw the massive dorsal fin, we knew we hooked a giant shark."

They were able to drag the shark to shore so they could take pictures and a video before returning it to the ocean off the shore of Broward County.

The fishing group that Hluben belongs to is called Landshark Fishing and they reportedly specialize in going out at night to catch and release large sharks.

To do this safely, the fishermen use stainless steel circle hooks, which are supported by the Florida Sea Grant College Program, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, as well as NOAA Fisheries.

The video that the fishermen captured of the hammerhead shark on shore has gotten not only national media attention, but also over 400 thousand views on YouTube in less than a week.
