Police investigate several killings in southwest Nigeria

Two days after a kidnappers' den was uncovered in southwest Nigeria, residents continued to search the site around an abandoned building where human skeletons and body parts were uncovered, prompting a police investigation.
(SOUNDBITE) UNIDENTIFIED RESIDENT SAYING:
"If human beings can be slaughtered and skulls are found everywhere littered, it's terrible, honestly. It's terrible. It's so painful. "
Blood stains, human skulls, clothes, shoes, and human hair were found in the area that had long been thought by some residents to be a haven for people with mental disabilities. Security personnel also rescued several people who appeared to have been severely malnourished.
Police don't yet have an explanation as to why the bodies were found there. Local residents believe it could have something to do with black magic rituals.
