Shaun Pollock talks about his experience of taking over as South Africa captain shortly after Hansie Cronje had been banned for life.

Captaincy was unexpected for Pollock but he had to adapt quickly, and led the side permanently until after the 2003 World Cup.

He subsequently stood in on occasion when Graeme Smith was unavailable before retiring in 2008.

Here, in the latest of a series of exclusive interviews with Cricket World (http://www.cricketworld.com) he says that it was important to deal with a lot of issues outside of the game, and win back the trust of the South African fans when he took over.
