A machine has been patented that is designed for women to have orgasms with just the push of a button.
The device works by using electrodes implanted in the spinal cord to stimulate certain nerves that trigger orgasms.
It is smaller than a pack of cigarettes, but in order to use the device it needs to be surgically implanted in an invasive surgery comparable to a pace maker.
The invention was stumbled upon by accident when Stuart Meloy, a surgeon working at Piedmont Anesthesia and Pain Consultants in Winston-Salem, North Carolina was working on one of his patients.
Meloy is quoted as saying: “I was placing the electrodes and suddenly the woman started exclaiming emphatically. I asked her what was up and she said, ‘You’re going to have to teach my husband to do that.’”
Further medical tests still need to be carried out before the device will be available on the market.
Studies have shown that anywhere from 11 to 41 percent of women worldwide suffer from female orgasmic disorder.
