As pro-Russia supporters celebrated the Crimean Parliament's vote to become part of Russia, Femen topless activists protested the vote, demanding a stop to what they called "Putin's war."

Parliament's vote was unanimous and set Crimea up for an early referendum vote on March 16 to determine the future of the Ukrainian's territory. Many see the vote as a prelude to independence from Ukraine and a step closer to formally coming under Russia's rule.

The Femen activists were dragged away from the crowds, kicking and screaming.

Crimea has been the subject of international attention as Russian-speaking troops bearing no insignia have taken control of government buildings, airbases and more.
