Egypt human rights group decries police violence

A government-appointed human rights group has criticised Egypt's police over a deadly crackdown on protesters. Hundreds of people were killed when security forces moved in on supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi in Cairo's Rabaa Square last August. Egypt's Human Rights Council, a group appointed by the country's authorities, found that armed individuals infiltrated what was largely peaceful protests. The group's report blames the police for not ensuring a safe exit for protesters to leave the area. Al Jazeera's Charles Stratford reports.
