Utama Villain starts rolling in Bangalore from Monday (March 3. The grapevine is abuzz that Kamal plays an ageing superstar with shades of grey in the character. It is said to be a humorous satire on superstardom and its pitfalls with story and screenplay by Kamal and Crazy Mohan.

There are three heroines in the film. As per sources it is likely to be Viswaroopam girls Andrea and Pooja Kumar along with Parvathy Menon. Kamal's mentor K Balachandar plays an important role in the film which will have music by Ghibran. The cinematographer is Shyam Dutt and editor Vijai Shankar.
Utama Villain will be a start to finish project and will be shot under 100 days, as Kamal and producers are keen to make it as a quickie with an August release.

Kamal has confirmed that he will be moving over to Suresh Balaji's Jeethu Joseph directed remake of Drishyam by July.
