Elderly Nurse Brutally Attacked by Patient

In one very sad report, a woman who works as a nurse in Brooklyn, is battling for her own life. 70-year-old Evelyn Lynch was brutally assaulted by a patient.
Nurses are responsible for helping patients fight for their lives. However in one very sad report, a woman who works as a nurse in Brooklyn, is battling for her own life.
70-year-old Evelyn Lynch was brutally assaulted by a patient. Just prior to the unprovoked attack, Lynch was preparing to discharge the man, 40-year-old Kwincii Jones from Brookdale Medical Center.
She had just removed Jones’ catheter when things went violently wrong. The suspect reportedly knocked the elderly nurse to the ground and harshly stepped on her head.
The attack was stopped when another nurse walked into the room and saw what was going on. At that point, Jones locked himself inside a bathroom until police arrived and arrested him.
Lynch was transported to Kings County Hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery to save her life. She remains at the facility and her condition is listed as critical.
A friend of Lynch’s family, Dr. Marvo Forde stated “We're asking for all the prayers we can get. We never expected that in a place she is caring for a patient that it would happen.”
Investigators are currently working to determine why Jones became violent towards Lynch. He is facing charges of second-degree assault and attempted murder.
