Hundreds of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong dance for justice

Around 500 foreign domestic workers danced in unison in Hong Kong on Sunday as part of a global campaign to end violence against women.
The Hong Kong mass dance marked the first stop of the “One Billion Rising for Justice” campaign this year.
The “billion” refers to the United Nations statistic that one in three women on the planet – or one billion people – will be raped or beaten in her lifetime.
The rights of Hong Kong’s 300,000 domestic workers came into the spotlight in recent months after the abuse case of an Indonesian live-in maid, Erwiana Sulistyaningsih, ignited repeated protests in the former British colony.
