KPK government should fulfil its constitutional obligations by taking appropriate steps for the holding of programme
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has condemned the step of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stop the book launching ceremony of Malala Yousufzai’s book in Peshawar. The committee asked as to why the KPK government was so much afraid and added that the affairs of the government could not be run in this manner.
The Co-ordination Committee said that disallowing the book-launching ceremony was against the basic right of the freedom of expression. The KPK government should have taken appropriate steps for holding of the programme.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the KPK government had abdicated its basic responsibility to provide protection to its citizens by failing to give protection and stopping the book-launching programme.
The Co-ordination Committee stressed on the KPK government to take appropriate steps for holding the book-launching ceremony in Peshawar and to fulfil its constitutional obligations.
