Beirut explosion kills four, captured on TV

A Lebanese Television station broadcasts the dramatic moment a suicide bomber explodes, killing at least four in Beirut.

Crowds swarm the burning site as emergency crews work to rush away the injured.

Security sources say the explosion happened in a residential neighborhood in the southern part of the country's capital, known for supporting Hezbollah.

Hezbollah member of parliament Ali Ammar:

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PARLIAMENT MEMBER FROM HEZBOLLAH, ALI AMMAR, SAYING:

"This blast is part of the series of explosions targeting this area, and to be fair, it does not target this area only but it targets all Lebanon, all its areas and religions. And this terrorist plot normally has a sponsor, a big regional sponsor, providing all the possible support regarding weapons, logistic, financial, political and all sort of coverage."

The aftermath shows glass lining the streets, damaged cars, blown out windows, and a building turned black.
