Doctors Without Borders paring down aid at Bangui airport

Victims of violence in the Central African Republic are close to losing their lifeline.
Doctors Without Borders is paring down its operations at the Bangui airport in an effort to try to reduce risk for staff and patients. And the risk of disease is on the rise.
Thousands are taking shelter at the airport as inter-religious violence rages in the country. The number of people staying at this makeshift camp has doubled in the past week to 100,000.
Terra Bownes of Doctors Without Borders in Bangui explains:
(SOUNDBITE) (French) TERRA BOWNES, MSF BANGUI, SAYING:
"We suspended our activities this week because there was a lot of violence around the camp and it was very dangerous for our team who work here. Also, in the camp, in the course of a normal day's work there are many patients who go around, and it's very dangerous for them too, dangerous for the doctors, for the nurses, for all the staff."
The airport lacks access to proper food and water.
