World's first state-licensed marijuana retailers open doors in Colorado

As of January 1st, cannabis can be legally produced, sold and taxed in Colorado.

Iraq War veteran Sean Azzariti, who suffers from PTSD, was the first to purchase legal marijuana from Denver's Discreet Dispensary.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) SEAN AZZARITI, FIRST CUSTOMER, VETERAN WITH PTSD, SAYING:

"Now I get to use recreational cannabis to help alleviate my PTSD and it's a stepping stone for other states to help other veterans, as well."

PTSD is not covered under Colorado's medical marijuana law.

But the state's new Amendment 64 allows people like Azzariti to buy recreational pot without a prescription.
