Jazz bass lesson Hinton Milt 1989 Milt Hinton ( 1910 - 2000 ) was one of the greatest jazz bassists in the history of Jazz. In this 1989 interview he explains some of the principles of early jazz bass playing. Mr Hinton mentioned that he learned a lot from Chester Zardis one of the early New Orleans Jazz players.
