A man in Centerville, Iowa was recently arrested after his gun went off in a local Walmart store. 50-year-old Christopher William Strube had been shopping at the supercenter on a recent Sunday afternoon.

As part of a freak accident, a bottle he had been carrying fell from his grasp and struck the .45 caliber firearm concealed in his pants pocket. That caused the gun to fire one round.

Thankfully nobody was hurt, but it did scare other shoppers and employees. Here’s where the incident gets even more bizarre – instead of alerting someone of the mishap, Strube continued shopping and then paid for his items, without saying as word, as if nothing had happened.
The gunshot was reported to police, who arrived on scene to investigate. A bullet hole was found in a display basket along with numerous cans of beans.

Law enforcement authorities caught up with Strube the following day. He was arrested and charged with discharging a weapon within city limits.

According to police, he does have an active permit allowing him to carry a concealed weapon. Strube is due in court on November 26th.
