Australian police arrest four in drug bust

Australian police arrested four people following a drug bust in Sydney, police said in a written statement on Thursday (November 14).

Two 50-year-old Australian men, a 42-year-old woman and a 39-year-old woman were charged with two counts of "large commercial supply of prohibited drug", police said.

Ten kilograms (22 pounds) of methylamphetamine, commonly known as 'ice' were seized on Wednesday (November 13), police confirmed.

The drugs were hidden in a television set and had an estimated street value of A$12 million ($11.2 million), police said.

The drug bust was a joint operation between the State Crime Command's Organised Crime Targeting Squad and the New South Wales Crime Commission. They were were investigating the import and large commercial supply of 'ice' throughout Sydney under an operation known as 'Strike Force Nemo', police said.
