Toronto mayor Rob Ford criticized online
Toronto needs a new mayor, Rob Ford needs to resign because people can no longer trust him … residents of the Canadian city have taken to the web in their droves following Mayor Rob Ford’s announcement on a local radio show on Sunday that he would be not be stepping down despite the crack cocaine scandal. The story took a new twist in Thursday when the Toronto police force submitted to court a video apparently showing him smoking the narcotic. Allegations that have sparked widespread outrage online.
Many social networkers just cannot understand Rob Ford’s attitude, saying it’s wholly unacceptable and shows Toronto in a very poor light. Scores of web users reproach him for not openly admitting his drug habit and urge him to show voters some honesty and transparency. Canadians, like the person who started this online petition feel that in view of the scale of the scandal, the mayor has no other choice but to resign.
But whilst the majority of web users share this point of view, the mayor of Toronto does have some support online. Some say that Rob Ford has yet to be officially proven guilty, and that people should let the legal authorities get on with their job.
