Barcelona (Spain), 18 Feb (EFE).- Catalonian pastry chefs Jordi Bordas, Julien Alvarez and Josep Maria Rodriguez, who won the 2011 Pastry World Cup, found inspiration in Jules Verne's novel 'Around the World in Eighty Days' to win the hearts and minds of both the jury and the public.

The Pastry World Cup has been held every two years since 1989 and teams must prepare their creations in front of an audience while members of a jury take note.

Each team has nine hours to prepare three pieces made from chocolate, sugar and ice, two cakes- one chocolate and the other frozen- and a dessert.
