One soon to be 100-year-old gal received the best early birthday gift ever. She was reunited with a nostalgic and sentimental vehicle from the past.

The Massachusetts woman, Helen Wall was in her mid 20s when her husband served in World War II as a fighter pilot. While he was gone, she got herself around by driving a brand new 1941 Ford Super Deluxe convertible.

She cruised in that stylish ride for about 8 years before selling it to a neighbor in the 1950s, so she and her husband could afford a Volkswagen bus. The neighbor who Wall sold the car to, Ed Smith still owns the convertible.

Smith is a vintage vehicle collector and he keeps all his cars in pristine condition. Wall who is now a widow, turns 100 in just a few weeks. She lives in a nursing home in West Bridgewater, but she never forgot about that vehicle and still talks about her 1941 Ford.

A friend of Hall’s, Carol Howe decided to arrange for Smith to give Hall a ride as part of her birthday present. The now white-haired Hall spoke of the cruise down memory lane stating “It was wonderful. It was only a short ride, but it was wonderful.”
