Black Teen Sues NYPD After High End Store Barney’s NY Accuses Him of Stealing

Trayon Christian, a black 19 year old college student, was arrested by the NYPD after a Barney’s clerk accused of him of making a fraudulent purchase. The teen had gone to the store to buy a Ferragamo belt and had plenty of funds. He showed the clerk his debit card and ID, and showed officers the receipt, with no one believing him. Chase bank verified Christian and he was let go after being held in police custody. He is now suing the NYPD and Barney’s for an unspecified amount.
