Teenager dies in Bahrain when bomb explodes in his hand

STORY: Bahrain state news agency BNA quoted police on Tuesday saying a bomb in the hands of a17-year-old youth, wanted by security forces for "criminal offenses", accidentally blew up as he was in the process of carrying out an attack.

It was not clear what the intended target of the attack was.

A firearm and ammunition was also found near the body in the village of Bani Jamra, west of the capital Manama, BNA said without giving any details.

Witnesses said one worker staying at a nearby warehouse was injured by the blast.

There were holes in the wall of a pre-fabricated home used as the workers' sleeping area which police said were caused by the impact of the explosion.

The Interior Ministry had earlier said that the police operations room received a call from a person reporting the blast and were told one person was dead at the scene.
