Texas Man Fakes His Own Kidnapping to Party With Friends

One man in Texas who was reportedly afraid of his wife, decided to fake his own kidnapping in an effort to avoid making his partner angry.

On a recent Tuesday night, 34-year-old Rogelio Andaverde from Edinburg, Texas had been sitting at home with his spouse. Two masked and armed men then entered the residence and forced Andaverde out of the house. His wife, naturally panicked, alerted the police.

A massive search and investigation was immediately launched but police authorities were quite suspicious as Andaverde had no criminal history. About a day and a half after he went missing, Andaverde casually walked through the door and told his wife that the kidnappers had decided to let him go.

Law enforcement officials showed up to interview Andaverde and learned he staged the entire kidnapping to go out drinking with his buddies. He was quickly arrested and charged with making a false report to police.

The local sheriff stated “I don't think his wife appreciated being kept until 4 or 5 in the morning, being interviewed by the cops while her husband was out doing who knows what with who knows who — he's going to have a lot of answering to do.”
