Australian diver survives second shark attack

They say once bitten, twice shy..but that's not true of a diver in west Australia who is recovering from a second shark attack in 10 years.

Gred Pickering was diving for abalone near the remote Cape Arid off the south coast of western Australia when he was attacked by what's believed to be a great white shark.

He was flown to Perth for emergency surgery and is in serious but stable condition.

Here the diver is talking to media after he was first mauled in 2004 by a bronze whaler shark.

"When the shark grabbed me it just sort of struck bone. I felt the teeth go right into the bone."

It didn't stop him from returning to the water, though.

Since his second attack Western Australia's Fisheries Department has issued a catch and kill order for the shark.
