Simi Valley fireworks accident leaves 28 injured

An accident at a Fourth of July fireworks show in Simi Valley, California, went dangerously haywire when a platform collapsed, shooting fireworks into the 10,000-strong crowd. Revellers panicked as fireworks shot horizontally into the crowd leaving people with projectile wounds and burns. Twenty-eight people suffered injuries, mostly to the legs, body and eyes.
