In the town of Assisi preparations are underway for the Friday visit of Pope Francis, named after its patron saint.
700 journalists are expected to accompany the pontiff on his first visit to the town of St Francis.
2,500 chairs have been laid out for a mass which friars are calling an historic moment for the popular pope.
