The story of one man’s energetic efforts to have hide-and-seek added on as a Tokyo 2020 Olympic event.

One man is intent on having hide-and-seek added on as an Olympic event.

But, hide-and-seek isn’t a sport, you say?

Well, he’s established an official committee that’s been addressing that technicality.

The promotion group set up rules and regulations in an effort to standardize the game and make it competition-friendly.

Those include declaring an official team size of seven and putting a 10-minute timer on a match.

Matches are divided into two halves. In each, hiders are given the 2 minutes to do so, and seekers the remaining to fulfill their part of the task.

The official field size has been designated as 65 feet by 65 feet.

No rules on landscape type have been laid down, as the fact that it can be played anywhere is considered by the committee to be one of the greatest parts of the game.

Said the committee’s founder, “I want to encourage sport for all, meaning that anyone can take part, regardless of age, gender or ability."
