Stubbs, the infamous Alaskan cat who serves as honorary mayor of Talkeetna, is currently recovering from injuries after an unexpected attack.
Stubbs, the infamous Alaskan cat who serves as honorary mayor of Talkeetna, is currently recovering from injuries after an unexpected attack.
On a recent Saturday evening, a local dog on the loose mauled the busy kitty, causing a four inch wide deep laceration, as well as a punctured lung and other internal injuries.
Stubbs had been walking down small town’s main street a few stores down from where his owner worked when he caught the attention of a dog running loose.
The dog immediately darted across the road and attacked Stubbs. Thankfully Stubbs was able to muster enough strength to get away from the dog and run for cover.
Local residents quickly launched a search effort for the missing and famous cat. Stubbs' owner repeatedly checked an older home a few buildings down from her workplace. It was a spot Stubbs was known to frequent.
After she called to the cat several times, he came crawling out of his hiding spot, badly injured.
The cat’s medical bills are piling up, so an Indiegogo website has been set up to assist with his recovery.
