Michael Douglas walked the red carpet in Berlin to celebrate the premiere of his film "Behind the Candelabra."
The HBO movie starring Douglas as the flamboyant pianist and Matt Damon as his lover, tells the true story of the glitzy showman.
The role is a far cry from Douglas' normal tough guy image, but he says he enjoyed every minute of it.

"The magic of Liberace was how much he enjoyed performing for people. So once you got the wigs and the hair and the costumes worked out and everything, it was developing that inner joy of loving what you do."
The premiere marked one of Douglas' first appearances since news broke of his separation from his wife of 13 years, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
"Behind the Candelabra" will be shown in German cinemas in October.
