Spokesman says Mandela "continues his recovery" at home

STORY: The spokesman for anti-apartheid leader and former South African President Nelson Mandela says the 95-year-old Mandela will continue to receive intensive care treatment from his home, saying his doctors are confident he will receive the same level of care as in the hospital."

"They have decided that they have reconfigured the house so that he can receive proper intensive care just as he would receive in hospital and under those circumstances," said South Africa's presidency spokesperson Mac Maharaj at Johannesburg Tambo airport.

Mandela returned to his home on Sunday after spending 87 days in a Pretoria hospital for a recurring lung infection, a legacy of the nearly three decades he spent in jail under apartheid.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate's latest hospitalization in June had attracted a wave of attention and sympathy at home and across the world.
