There is a good reason why many people have a fear of wolves.

A teenage boy named Noah in Minnesota fortunately survived a recent wolf attack while camping at the West Winnie Campground.

The 16-year-old is now at home, recovering from a bite wound to his head.

The terrifying ordeal occurred in the early morning hours of a recent Saturday. Noah was outside a tent in the campground.

In an instant the timber wolf appeared and latched onto Noah’s skull.

The teen’s father Scott stated “The wolf just came up behind Noah, he didn't hear anything, and it just grabbed him by the back of the head and wouldn't let go.”

Noah punched at the vicious animal and screamed at it until it fled. State wildlife officers shot the wolf responsible for the attack.

The now deceased animal will soon be tested for rabies at the University of Minnesota. Noah received 17 staples in his head and underwent precautionary rabies vaccinations.

The Department of Natural Resources is claiming that the incident is the first confirmed attack of a human by a gray wolf in state history.
