An attempted robbery went terribly wrong for one thief in Georgia. 20-year-old Ashton MacAfee reportedly tried to hold up a waffle house in Fulton County.

He walked into the business at around 2 in the morning with a gun and demanded money from workers. However a customer at the establishment brandished his own weapon and shot the aspiring robber, before he had a chance to collect the cash.

MacAfee definitely picked the wrong time to pull off the crime. An off-duty local police officer Jonathan Sutton and his friend, Chad Pollard who works as a security guard were sitting at the counter when the suspect entered the restaurant.

MacAfee pointed his gun at Sutton, leaving the cop unable to produce his own weapon. That’s when Pollard intervened.

He immediately fired two shots at MacAfee, wounding him. Sutton used his handcuffs to subdue him. When on-duty police officers arrived, MacAfee was lying on the floor, bleeding and cuffed.

He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Thankfully, no one else was hurt. The extent of MacAfee’s injuries was not immediately released.
