A bloody end to a simple morning meal.
Seven people in the town of Taji north of Baghdad were killed on Monday, when a bomb exploded at this modest restaurant during the start of their work day.
A shop owner nearby described the scene.
(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) HASHIM, SHOP OWNER IN THE AREA, SAYING:
"People and mechanics and laborers were having breakfast when suddenly, a bomb went off, killing a number of them. They are poor people who earn their living as day laborers."
The blast was one of three bomb attacks that killed a total of 12 in Iraq on Monday, ahead of provincial elections scheduled for June 20.
