German writer Walter Jens dies aged 90

The celebrated German author and literary historian, Walter Jens has died at the age of 90. Once described as a "moral yardstick" Jens campaigned for tolerant debate in post-war Germany, Although his career was tarnished by links to the Nazi party as a young man, he went on to campaign against militarism and re-armament in the 1980s.
